February 2023 Event: Audience Participation Stuff + Potential Script List! (Patreon)

February is right around the corner, so it's time to really get in gear preparing for Februdere 2!

The event will retain its aesthetic from last year ("if it ain't broke, don't fix it!" is my motto here) but that doesn't mean I have nothing to show off for Patrons!

Last year, the audience participation element of the event was a guessing game: 28 icons representing 28 yandere scripts; filled scripts were crossed off as audios were released, styled like a yandere crossing targets off her kill list. This year will be the same, but obviously with a mix of 28 new icons and possibilities.

Now it's time to bring you the new guessing game and all the potential scripts I've got in my to-do list! Beware! Thar be spoilers beyond this point!

Now for the list of scripts represented above, left to right and row by row. Underlined entries are my current shortlist of the likeliest scripts to be filled but there may be some substitutions, depending on collabs, permissions falling through and things like that.

Currently, there are 19 scripts on the shortlist minus collabs, which, uh...isn't short at all, as it turns out! ಠ ಠ Whoops!  I'll need to select a final twelve in the next day or two; nine solo scripts that will definitely be filled, and three backups in the unlikely case all the collabs fall through at once.

It'll be a tough choice, since I like so many of these scripts so much. It'll also be difficult to strike a nice balance of themes for a robust, varied event that's not too heavy on one subgenre/trope or another. But the beauty of selecting many scripts for an event is if any don't make the cut, they usually wind up in my to-do list down the line.

Honestly, the longer I stare at this list, the more tempted I am to pick some of the more off-the-wall options as the final selections. Initially I wanted to play it safe but now my instincts are whispering no, no, get real weird with it this year!
