Sneak Peeks, Plans and Updates for the Week of September 5! (Patreon)

Hiya, Patrons! Happy Labor Day! I hope you're enjoying a day off. And if not, I hope work is/was/will be painless as possible. 

Personally, I live in an area that sees a lot of people pass through every summer, so for me today marks the final Attack of the Fifty Foot Out-of-Towners. Soon there will descend a beautiful, fragile peace. At least until the beasts awaken from their slumber next year to rampage across the land once more. 

But in the meantime! No more last minute shift changes! A stable schedule! And sleep, precious, precious sleeeeep. °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°

Anyway, this week's planning post is a doozy. We're going to be looking into Vanilla Velvet Audio's future, not just to the end of the week but well into October...and beyond! Buckle up! 

First things first: this week's audio will be: Stranded in Space With Your Tsundere Crush!

There are currently two thumbnail possibilities I'm kicking around, so here's a look at those...

Which one do you prefer? I like both, but while I do love the image in the second, it might be a little too...moody? for the tsundere nature of the script. It may be better to save it for a darker, more melancholy script.

Anyway, it's an original script by me (!) based on a Patron suggestion (!!) Thanks to TheYounglingSlayer for that! 💖 Here's the original prompt:

Taking care of your crew mate after a crash-landing on an unknown  planet. [Tsundere energy] [crew mates to friends+] [Sci-fi] [healing her  wounds] [Reverse comfort] ["maybe I like you a little bit..."] [jungle  ambience]

After narrowly surviving a crash-landing on an unfamiliar planet, you search the wreckage for any surviving crew members. After finding the only other survivor, you see she's in rough shape and a whole lot of pain. She begrudgingly accepts your assistance and eventually even warms up to you, but she'd never admit it!

The writing process didn't quite go as planned so the storyline is a bit different than what's laid out here, but most of the basic elements remain. Crash landing, jungle planet, a bit of healing and hurt/comfort, crewmates to more, tsundere energy. A twisty plot fell into my lap halfway through scripting and I had to follow it. Ah, the muse. Such a fickle beast! 

At any rate, I hope the audio satisfies when it enters early access tomorrow. I'll also be cleaning up the script to make it presentable and post it for you all to read, if you like!

Other minor updates: I spent part of my free time last week chasing down script writers to get permission for early access and did some more work on my recording studio area. It's about 3/4 of the way finished! (Well, unless I decide to sound treat the ceiling? Eh, we'll put a pin in that for now!) Someday I'll also soundproof it, but after crunching some numbers that's quite an expensive undertaking. So I'm saving that for the BIG Patreon-goal studio upgrade.

And now, let's take a peek into my slightly cloudy crystal ball to see what's in the pipeline!

As I said, I've contacted a bunch of writers over the past week--many I've never worked with before!--to secure permission to produce audios based on their scripts and make them available for Patron early access. Some are possibilities for this year's Here for the Boos!, but many will be better suited to regular weekly audios.

In searching for scripts to make October's event a real blowout, I've amassed a downright frightening number of possibilities. We're talking so many they could easily last me into next year. ^^; Plus, some scripts that didn't make the cut for Monster Girl Mayhem and Februdere have been thrown into the mix. Let's take a look at a good portion of the contenders!

Like I said, it's a lot! Almost fifty scripts are listed here and this isn't even everything I'm considering (T⌓T) That said, it is really nice to have so much to choose from, and there are many I can't wait to sink my teeth into!

My first task is to pick three of these for September's remaining audios. Then it's a matter of selecting thirteen for October. I'd like to try do monsters/themes I didn't post last year, but it's best to remain flexible. A script might come along that I just can't say no to! 

I know I also mentioned trying to build the event around non-human listener scripts, but unfortunately after sorting through the bulk of the scripts most of those didn't make the cut. I don't mind performing scripts that need a little polish, making scripts shine with my personal touch is one of the things I love to do on my channel! But the workload simply would have been too intense for a major event.

Hm. Just looking at this list, a handful of scripts I listed above are likely knocked out of the running already. Still, I'll keep my options open for now. Over the next few days I'll make some decisions about what to cut.
