Sneak Peeks, Plans & Updates for the Week of...um, what day is it again? (Patreon)

Hello, hello! It's time for our first really big update in quite awhile! Technically, my channel vacation isn't over yet, but it's time to quietly get back on track for regular audio production again. Time is ticking! I have a lot of planning and prep to do before autumn lands in my lap.

To that end, here's all the VVA channel news that's fit to print!

Studio/Office Upgrades!

In my spare time over the summer, I've been chipping away at the seemingly never ending task of improving my recording space. And miracle of miracles, I haven't stapled my thumb to the ceiling even once!

The sound treatment is much better than it was just a couple of months ago, and I've made some strides in fixing the climate control in there. I can now record in the summer! Even when it's super hot! Without melting! INCREDIBLE!

Upgrades will continue as I can afford them and find time for them (proper soundproofing, etc.) but if I'm lucky, by the end of the year the space will be ideal for me and I'll finally be done.

If all goes well, the space will also be good enough that I can upgrade to a more professional mic after the new year without worrying about it picking up every creak in the pipes and chatty squirrel in the neighborhood. I'm a LITTLE terrified of upgrading (what if I sound awful on a better microphone?! What if I can't learn how to use an interface?! WHAT IF I SPONTANEOUSLY COMBUST?!?!) but I think it might be time. Especially if I ever want to do "pro" voice work on the side.

Finally, the raccoons that moved into the space above my office have been dealt with. Which I admit makes it sound like I had them whacked, but I promise they aren't sleeping with the fishes. Mommy Raccoon and her Baby Bandits are officially safe and sound far away from me.

Shorts!

First, a preview of some upcoming shorts:

A handful of those are already out/in early access because I'm a dingbat and forgot to post previews before they went live. Forgive me! I ran out of my ADHD meds for about a week there, and suddenly...

I wanted to get another small batch of them out into early access a couple nights ago, too, but I had to do that whole "sleeping" and "working" thing like some kind of adult or something. >.>

Anyway! Experimenting with shorts this summer has been quite satisfying and fun! I've decided I'm going to continue making them at least through the end of 2024.

While they've done pretty well over the summer in lieu of weekly videos, I do want to find out what happens when they're released to support a regular schedule. I'm curious to see the numbers!

The current plan is to commit to releasing two per week through the end of the year, one each on Saturday/Sunday. I may scale that back if the workload gets to be too much, especially during event months, but that's what I'd like to do.

Most of the scripts will be commissioned from writers I trust, so that will make things easier!

Patreon Exclusives!

After thinking on it a bit, I've decided to continue releasing two Patreon exclusive audios per month after my break ends. Again, I'm committing to that through at least the end of the year. It's subject to change after that if the load gets too heavy, but I do want to offer more perks for Patrons!

I have many exclusive scripts picked out for the next few months already, but I'm also casting around for a few spicier offerings to add to the mix. Patreon has been cracking down on a lot of popular--ahem--adult themes lately, with tightening content restrictions, so it's been difficult to find anything that fits the bill just right, but I'm tryin'!

Event Changes! 

Unless the next three weeks of real life stuff blows up in my face, I'm officially moving Here for the Boos into September this year. I already have most of the scripts picked out for the event. The line-up is in flux as always, but I want to stick to spooky stuff, yanderes and "classic" monster types.

If all goes to plan, I'll be releasing full series audios on Mondays, yanderes on Wednesdays, and monster girls/horror on Fridays, with a total of 13 full length videos during the event. (And, theoretically, 9 shorts interspersed throughout! We'll see!)

Regular Weekly Audios!

I really am trying to get ahead on everything, and that includes regular weekly audio plans! My schedule is basically set through January, with a little flexibility built-in just in case something floats my way that I can't turn down.

Right now, I'm set on one yandere audio, one sequel to an existing audio, one full series, and one miscellaneous audio every month.

I'm picking away at the finales for the original Damsel in Distress and Yandere Mad Scientist Wife series, and thinking very hard in the direction of both the Frog Princess and that darn slime girl script that has haunted me for two summers straight. Wish me luck! I'll need it!

Other audios that will get follow-ups in the near future: the Dorky Evil Queen series and the Big Bad Wolf Girl series.

Other stuff!

I ordered a new batch of commissions, I'm working on a slightly spiffed up video intro, and in October there will be a new, more sleep-friendly idle screen for future videos. Here's the VERY unfinished version of that:

Aaand...I think that's it? For now? My to-do list is a mile long, and this represents a fraction of it, but this is everything that's...well, I guess not set in stone. Uh. Set in gelatin? Yes. This is everything that is currently set in gelatin.

Welp! I've got a lot to do over the next few weeks, and not a lot of time to cram it into! Especially if I want to pace myself and not like, die.
