PSA: Sugar on Top Tier Slots (Patreon)

Hi, everyone! This is a quick PSA.

I’ve just purged some Sugar on Top slots that were taken up by patrons whose payments were declined at some point over the past 2+ years.

Due to a weird quirk of Patreon’s system, if you were ever part of a limited tier and your payment gets “stuck” after being declined, you still take up a tier slot even if you can no longer access the tier’s exclusive content. The only way to clear those slots is to block and then unblock the declined accounts.

I actually didn’t realize until this week when someone wanted to join the Sugar on Top tier but couldn’t that many slots were being taken up by folks who haven’t been patrons since 2022. That certainly explains why some of the math wasn't mathing behind the scenes for me!

So, if you are a former patron of a limited tier and at any point you receive a “Vanilla Velvet Audio Blocked You!” e-mail, please know that this is not a permanent issue. You’re not in trouble, I’m not mad or anything, you can always come back! There’s just a very silly technical problem with the platform’s limited tier system that can only be fixed by blocking/unblocking.

There are now around a dozen slots open on the Sugar on Top tier, so if you’ve been wanting to join it and get the extra special goodies attached, please do! 

I’ll try to purge inactive limited tier slots on a semi-regular basis in case this happens again--likely every couple of months.
