Anatomy of a Thumbnail: Heart and Solstice 2021! (Patreon)

Behind the scenes goodies time! Here are the thumbnail breakdowns from the channel's first Christmas event: Heart and Solstice. That event was meant to be a space for wholesome slice-of-life comforting audio. The event did okay, but it's easily one of the least successful I've ever done. In 2022 it was replaced with Creature Comforts, which retained the cozy element but added monsters for a more unique flavor.

A note about the thumbnails: I remember recoloring everything in pink/blue/purple specifically to fit the Vanilla Velvet brand and event thumbnail consistency, but also because I thought shifting away from the usual Christmas-y red 'n green would give the audios more longevity. I don't think it worked very well, really, but that was the thought process! (I also spent entirely too much time trying to balance the hair colors evenly between black, blonde, brown and auburn. ^^;)

Some of the faces here also got small edits because I wanted to keep the style consistent across the set. You might notice a set of eyes or a mouth borrowed from one of the other thumbnails here and there!

Someday if I ever find the time I may make new thumbnails for these, but I'm not sure I'll ever get around to it.
