Mouse trap - humane - catch and release (Patreon)

My lovely cat (though looks like a little deamon under the IR light) once in a while brings in a mouse totally unhurt and release it inside. (on the other side of that cat door is a catio, basically a decent size caged area). For a while had no idea how mice got inside until that day I setup a camera, caught red-handed.


Catching them has been an interesting game, now much easier with this trap. This is a live mouse trap, so as to not hurt the mouse and allow relocation.

Included the mouse I designed just for fun.

Print support are optional.

I only test printed it at 0.2mm layer height with 0.4mm nozzle

Only tested PLA, but other materials should be fine.
(update: PLA model is great for indoor, but failed in the sun outdoor)

Use four M3x6 screws (will be screw in plastic), to secure the swivel doors, tighten the screws as much as possible but not all the way, so that the door can swivel freely without friction

The trigger plate should be installed with smooth face up, just slide in and should clip.

This took multiple iterations to get prefect, printed this latest model twice and both were mechanically perfect, but if you have issues with it do let me know.
