Now compatible motor block with motor that have a normal 24mm shaft !!! So you can now easily upgrade your X motor.

The part behind the Apollo and the bottom piece, are very basic currently, I'm sure I'll have more thought about it once installed, but please share any thought ideas and comment as well.

I didn't route the wires through it yet, but the horizontal section is working really nicely.

I made it modular (in case of accidental breakage), so there is a new X-endstop block, different from the one posted before.

No print support.
Prefer PETG (or anything not as brittle as PLA under stress) for the printed chain piece (model_1 - horizontal_XEndstop_side), as it's more flexible than PLA so will bend a bit instead of break.
And PETG (or anything are heat resistant) for the large endstop block due to the motor heat.
Other pieces can be any material

Apollo side piece has 4 holes, but only two are needed.

The current model is specifically for 10x11 chain with 15x18mm (mine actually is 15x17 when measured ) outer dimension, and R18mm (you can use a larger radius, but R18 is a sweet spot), but small variation for that will work perfectly fine, as long as it's under 20mm wide (18mm being the widest I would recommend ) to fit over the X extrusion you'll be good.
If the end piece is facing the wrong direction, just reverse it, works both ways.

If you already have a chain in hand, please post a link and country to where you bought it. So that I can make those few variations.  And then people can just buy one of those depending on the part of the world you are at.
I included the Fusion file, but feel free to just end me specs

------------------------
Instructions:

You will notice that a chain will have one side with an end piece that bends in relation to the first link, and another side that doesn't bend, and stays "fused" with the first link. I'll refer to them as fused side and non fused side.

horizontal chain
for model 1, use 23 or 24 links, and one end piece on the fused side (that will attach to the Apollo)

vertical chain, use the remainder of the chain, use the fused side on the bottom section.

Shopping:

filename will match with the model#

model_1:
10x11
(inner dimensions) - 3 hole mount
Radius: R18
Use 23 or 24 links + one end piece on the apollo side.
And you can use the rest of the links for the vertical section (and two end pieces)
Bottom piece (back side) should be 63.4mm from the from of the aluminum extrusion.

can this also work for the stock mounting, or just on rails?

squirrelf3d

That setup is just rails, as the chains are sitting on top of the X extrusion, wheels would be in the way. But planning on making a wheels setup someday. but if there is rising interest will make it sooner rather than later
