The king who switched bodies with the mage that whole part of the plot is uncovered as you watch the show and its an important factor too. Without spoilers that part of the storyline makes this entire show very interesting imo.

The question about where the blind girls soul is, is also an important part of the plot. Your questions made me realise exactly why i loved this show so much when i first watched it. The twists and turns are amazing !!

They mentioned Jang Uk being son of Jang Gang so he’s the baby (heir) the king wanted to have. That’s why they mentioned the whole affair thing but it’s obvi not true rumor. The flashback of little girl crying was Naksu, and the Four Seasons' parents killed her family, she wants revenge like you said. 20 yrs have passed so we can assume the king is dead, he was too sick and coughing up blood. He only wanted to switch into a healthy body to produce an heir before his death but the guy he shifted souls with (Jang Gang) didn’t know his true intentions until he read the letter the king wrote after switching bodies. He does know Mu Deok is Naksu. At 40:41 he realizes her eyes are different, the crab leg move made him investigate more, He questions it at 42:46 At 43:38 he doesn’t understand the body she’s in is weak which is why she “rolled off” instead of being able to catch herself from falling At 38:00 is a foreshadow of him knowing only Naksu is daring enough to help him. At the 1:10:09 he confirms that he knows by stating “I knew from the moment I saw you”.
