The ice cream shop scene actually took place in 1995, the first two episodes just kept switching between 2023 and 1995. So the scenes we've seen involving Yi Chan (the dad) and Se Gyeong (cello girl) were all in 1995 only.

Also, you've already seen Yoon Dong Jin (the guitarist they wanted to recruit) in 2023. He was that musician who was being interviewed in the second episode that said he was in a high school band called First Love Memory Manipulators, which is why you recognised the band name. Same with Oh Ma Joo (Yi Chan's best friend, band manager), he's the producer who went to scout Spine9 in 2023 (head of MJ entertainment).
