Today, Johnnie Moore of PragerU explains to us why he thinks you should read the bible to your kids.  And while I disagree with his reasoning, it would be hypocritical of me to have a podcast where I literally do exactly that while saying I don't think you should.

I could use less Johnnie Moore & his annoying faux-enthusiasm and breathless delivery as he oversells the edifying pedagogical attributes of his compendium of Bronze Age fairytales. I find Johnnie’s zealous promotion of this strange, conflicted, error-ridden, misogynistic and BORING collection of fabulous things to be egregiously annoying.

The problem with the David and Goliath story is that Goliath didn't stand a chance. The sling was a deadly and accurate weapon of war. Even if Goliath had charged full speed at David, David would have had plenty of time to get off several shots. Remember the scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark where Jones was chasing someone through the town and came across a big guy waving around a big sword? That's a perfect analogy to D&G. (If you don't know the movie, Jones just took out his pistol and shot the sword guy.)
