One thing to note: Expanse is a trilogy of trilogies. The first trilogy is the discovery of the protomolecule to the opening of the ring gates (seasons 1-3). The second trilogy (seasons 4-6) is essentially about the socio-economic changes resulting from the ensuing "gold rush" (Mars dying, Belter's becoming redundant due to the new worlds and how they react, etc.). The third trilogy (books 7-9) is about something else again.
