So regarding the whole rogers name thing. I'm not too sure how you know it's gol d roger cause that a future retcon (retcon might be the wrong word) haha. At this point in the story it's just gold roger and I can't explain why without spoiling. But as a clue, think about those seagulls

So glad you're reacting to this! I'm totally biased, but for me, this is the best tv show of 2023, and it's not even close. I felt transported into the world, felt all the absurdist joy, and thought that the entire cast just crushed it. This is far and away the best anime adaptation of all time -- and I credit that to Oda's personal involvement in the production. It's a banger.

Hachem Hm

I'm not sure how he knows either, must be a faulty subtitle that spoiled it too soon. It's a cool reveal in the next few episodes in the anime and it would've worked had he not known it already.

you should not know yet about the Gol D. Roger at that point in the anime where did you get that from? that is a spoiler at this point by the way for both of you

Not sure if you noticed but Garp at the end was the same guy at the start at Roger's execution

Nicholas Reed

I mean, he probably just saw the name written out once in the wild. That's what happened to me.

Dario Schiller

Clarus' facial expressions during this lmao

Kevin Morris

Speaking of Easter eggs I just noticed a new one when shanks is stitching up luffys cut. It's just kinda in the background and I love it.

Kevin Morris

I believe it's just in the sub in the execution scene in the version he is watching. Though the dub still says gold roger there.

I loved the live action, but Zoro felt too... edgy for me. Anime Zoro (at least for East Blue) is so cock and always grinning with this shit eating look and LA Zoro is so... expressionless.

Spoiler warning, end of episode 4 you are going to be spoiled on a plot twist that doesnt come up till like the end of the 300s in the anime.

Yeah you're definitely not supposed to know about "Gol D. Roger" yet... no idea what's up with the subtitles you have (if that is where you saw it). The live action is correctly calling him "Gold Roger"; both the anime and manga still call him that where you're at. Actually Roger doesn't say "One Piece" in either the voiceover during the first few episodes, nor in Loguetown during the flashback. During the flashback, a citizen says "One Piece" but Roger never actually does; he just refers to it as "my treasure" and "everything the world has to offer". If your subtitles said that, it was creative license; Roger doesn't say it in the original Japanese. The presence of various figures at the execution got retconed way later... this is a theme with the Live Action. It will happily pull things from hundreds of chapters down the road. You have been warned.
