FWIW, I'm not sure there was a smoother place to bring Nynaeve in. Any later, and the same questions would have arisen on how she could have tracked them, and it would have meant less Nynaeve in S1. Honestly, it was just as messy in EotW, so I don't hold it against them, the source material didn't really give them much to work with on that level. But yeah, I felt this episode was strong, pretty much all the changes worked for me and served a purpose. You could argue some of the changes could have been executed to greater effect in spots, but ultimately, the reasoning is sound. I wouldn't buy Lan training Rand this early on, while they're on the run, while Lan has other priorities.

Just noticed that when Rand, Mat, Perrin and Egwene watch the one horse die in Shadar Logoth, then they flee and the remaining horses bolt into the night. Next scene Lan comes out of the door with Moiraine and the horses are just conveniently there again. This show needed MUCH better editors throughout! Your comments on Nynaeve's double fake out death made me snicker...for reasons. Yeah, having Lan teach Rand, or even all the boys, how to fight here instead of the Rand/Egwene drama would've been WAY smarter!
