I think Clarus nailed it...the Dark One has won every single time. every. single. time. how is that not a "victory" for the shadow? and why is the one and only condition for a "victory" for the shadow have to be a main character dies? there aren't any other possible ways whatsoever that you might see the shadow getting a "victory" that doesn't include a main character being dead after? a forsaken didn't have to die every time for it to be considered a "victory" for the light, right? regarding the possible Seanchan resolution....RJ died before he could write his planned series about literally that and didn't leave near enough info for anyone else to write it for him since he was so focused on just making sure Wheel of Time could be finished, so yeah... i tend to gloss over most things about them in later books when they start to become more like the seafolk(in regards to importance) with just more page time and just enjoy the rest of the series instead edit: i forgot to press shift + enter before this last point lol. I'm glad Clarus seems to understand the stakes of this last book and has caught onto the fact that this battle has been happening for much much longer than the books we have read, and that for us to be reading about this specific moment means that something epic must be coming... anyway, I do enjoy hearing both your thoughts about things.. you both have made me consider things that i never have before when reading these books. I also understand that these books aren't for everyone and if Nerdy ends up not liking it at all just because a main character didn't die, or didn't die early enough, or whatever, then that is ok... we all don't have to agree about everything. I'll still support you. and this is still my favorite series to date though :)

I agreed with Nerdy here.. i feel like the main characters were always safe...they were always going to make it out of any situation at this point...
