On the point of parents as alibi it could be in this fascist country's code of law that familial relations present a conflict of interest when seeking an alibi. In reality it's BS but it's a way to justify railroaded prosecution of political enemies cuz "whose parents/children/spouse WOULDN'T lie for them?" is the excuse. And those are probably the people you spend the most time with so you wouldn't have an alibi in the majority of your personal time.
