Wow. The dub just straight up didn’t translate what was written on Mitsuha’s hand at the end of the movie. It was すきだ which means “I love you.”

When they had no reaction to what was on her hand (and had mentioned earlier that the text on Taki's phone wasn't translated), I was worried about that. I just went back to the CR dub to confirm that they left it untranslated. Shocking oversight. I had only ever seen this subbed from a BD import. Never occurred to me that CR would leave the on screen text untranslated.

Pretty much everything that Makoto Shinkai directs is beautiful. Even though some of his films are misses for me, they are all beautiful in some way. 5 Centimeters Per Second will always be my favorite, because I watched it at just the right time in life. I understand that I am mostly alone in ranking it above Your Name, though. 😅

I think the dub in the blu ray is translated cause that’s how I originally watched Your Name. Now the primary way I watch it is the subbed version on Prime Video cause I bought it there.
