The bird looks off because it has to flap its wings less in the lesser gravity. A subtle detail. One of many you will catch if you rewatch. This show has amazingly high rewatch value.

Expanse reactions = automatic Patreon subscription from me lol. I think it is easily the best science fiction series ever made and one of the best shows period of the past decade. I haven't watched the reaction yet, but going by the comments, I'll second what others are saying that putting on subtitles will probably be helpful. And I say that as someone who doesn't normally like subtitles. There's a lot going on early on, and it's easy to get a bit turned around and confused these first few episodes. Plus although Belter Creole is mostly English, it can be hard to understand at first until you get use to some of the terminology.

The show is based on a book series by the same name (written by James SA Corey). There's something about this show that gives me Mass Effect vibes, and I love it for that (Shohreh Aghdashloo did voice one of the Quarian Admirals in Mass Effect, so that might be half the vibe.) I've heard other people compare it to Dead Space as well. Looking forward to seeing you guys get a few more episodes under your belt. It's dense, but the pieces do start to come together eventually.

Hell for me it's the best thing I've ever watched period (any genre tv or movie)! Be patient with S1 because these guys do some big and small (details that many overlook even after multiple watch throughs that all pay off in nice ways)! Looking forward to watching your adventure!

I'm so excited for this watch through. Trust that the show will definitely explain things over time. It is a very dense show but they do a great job of walking you through it. The density pays off though Things set in motion even from the first episode have payoffs seasons later. It's my all time favorite SciFi and I'm so excited you are both watching it. Give it the first 4 episodes you will be hooked.
