It has been so so fun watching your reactions to this series!! I can't wait to (hopefully) see more once season 2 is out! Promise I'm not going to spoil anything from the books cuz I'm not a monster, but just some food for thought while you wait for season 2 - you're right, the reveal that "Rashid" is actually a 500 year old vampire doesn't really pay off any of the story that's been built up so far if you don't already know who the character is. I hadn't seen it that way until you pointed it out, and it's so true, but it also got me thinking. Some of the isolated things that have happened in this season can be examined from a post-reveal perspective (even for book fans) since the story is very different in many ways from the source material, and that makes this reveal potentially much more interesting and relevant. Why, when Louis doesn't have the "cloud gift", is his library like 15 feet off the ground, and no ladder in sight? Armand can access the books, but Louis, who we know to be an avid reader, can't access them without help. Why is "Rashid" present for every stage of the interview, playing servant/manager/snack? Why does Daniel not remember meeting Armand in the 70s, if Armand apparently saved his life when Louis attacked him during the first interview? Why are the two of them, Louis and Armand, going to such great lengths to repeat the interview now, and why has Louis' perspective on Lestat changed so much? I'm sure there's more, but those are the kind of questions keeping my wheels turning until season 2!
