DAY OFF is really easy to get through and it's pretty chill. LENIVERSE has a little bit more structure, you can't go wrong either way.

heh you looking for garam is valid: i think they probably spliced some of the predebut practices with maybe the practice the girls had to do with re-organizing the formations/new parts? that would explain why it looks like they're learning/practicing from the beginning but there's only 5 ... along with some master-level cutting/framing to hide her 😅 really detailed, regardless...

Yeah I usually say to start with day off because you get an understanding of their dynamics and personalities quicker than going straight to leniverse and also the episodes (at least the first season) literally connects to the start of leniverse

You can catch a glimpse of her hair, a bit of face an body here and there but overall, they did a great job. Because when Source Music/HYBE terminated her contract, they were not allowed to use her image, voice or name for any future releases (they don’t “own” her name nor image anymore basically”). So that’s why even though she was under contract with the company while filming this, because it was released after the contract termination, she has to be edited out. My guess is that they wanted to release this whole documentary shortly after their debut, just like they did with Enhypen&Hi, but because of the whole controversy and decision making of what would happen with Garam, they most likely had to postpone the release and edit her out. Haruka, on the other hand was included because most likely her image and name is still owned by HYBE, and it’s like she’s probably still a trainee under them and that’s why they can use her image. It’s both showing the realness and cruelty of the debut process, while hyping her up for a (possible) upcoming debut. For what we understand she was very young. Younger that Sakura(98), Chaewon(00) and Yujin(01)… presumably a 2005 liner (Kazuha is 03 and Eunchae is 06 and Garam is 05 as well). Guess we have to wait and see if she appears again one day lol It would’ve been interesting to see Garam preparing for her debut and tbh I would’ve liked to see how it was for her. She was not innocent but she was not as guilty as people made her out to be. She was just a kid and suffered a lot and that costed her a crap ton. Giving insight as to what she felt pre, during and after her debut when all of the rumours were being spread, would’ve been controversial to some extent but I think it would’ve given a great insight so people can see how damaging words and actions can be detrimental for someone’s debut (actions have consequences, for Garam) and for the people that were being ridiculously mean towards her could see how damaging and insensitive their comments, assumptions were to this human 16 year old girl. But what’s done it’s done. The girls(at least the 5 of them) seem really close with each other and after what happened, they definitely grew stronger. Antifragile had already a demo during their debut preparation and it was kinda epic how after the controversy they came back stronger with such an impactful title track that definitely reflects what they went through during the controversy, so it worked really well for them. I just hope all the girls are happy tbh. And that Garam can live at peace living a normal life wherever she is. As always, love your reactions!! Also… the rumours of Garam started shortly after the announcement of the group like really short after. Like the person who talked was just waiting for her debut. So the rumours were there shortly before their debut, so I’m guessing they were discussing and seeing what the fuck they could do. Iinitially trying to stop the rumours and heading to court and actually trying to help Garam get out of the situation by providing proof and statements, something I’ve never really seen a company do. Specially for someone who has just debuted. So in their schedules we’re she clearly doesn’t seem present before their debut, my best assumption would be that she was elsewhere discussing all of that stuff with the staff, lawyers and so on… What a stress must’ve been for everyone. Not even debuting, but debuting knowing that people already “know” so much about “you” and you don’t have the chance to actually show who you actually are. Like when idols have had bullying scandals in the past, at least they were somewhat already known and had been an idol for longer than 2 weeks (Garam was put on hiatus just after two weeks of their debut) and people could at least compare actions of them instead of just head on into assumptions without a single bit of consideration. I think HYBE/Source Music didn’t anticipate for it to be so big and thought they could handle the situation. But I think because they tried to help Garam at first and actually showed that they cared for their artist, people were just outraged by that… and became worse. Like they went above and beyond to microanalyse every single piece of that two week media that they had of her and assumed things of her personality by a stare, a word, an expression. Johan… people were even theorising that she was sleeping with Bang PD to keep her contract… it was BAD. Companies often just either ignore the issue, or jump into putting the idol on a indefinite hiatus. Then after it quiets down and the allegations either get debunked or proved, the company removes them (or not) from the group. HYBE/ Source Music released multiple statements, official school documents, lawsuits and seemed to be going to court and all; I though that was incredible and unprecedented. But at the end, the allegations became worse and it became very damaging for the company, the group’s image and Garam’s (and the members) mental and physical health. And they ended removing her from the group. It’s so funny to me that after the allegations somewhat dissipated and it was proven that the “victim” exaggerated and was guilty of bullying both Garam and her friend (Garam was guilty of defending and going overboard with that “defence”😬) and now people are changing sides and being all “poor girl” and blaming the company for not doing anything for her. Sigh. The whole thing makes me so mad😩 I wasn’t a Fearnot back then, but I decided to remain neutral until an actual statement with proofs and more info was released and even now I’m somewhat neutral. I don’t agree what Garam did to defend her friend (the yelling and so on) was correct but it’s something I’ve definitely have done and would’ve done at her age and even younger. I was bullied, my friends were bullied. No one stood up for me, I stood up for my friends and to this day my ex-classmates blame for getting a warning document from the school for what they did and that was in 2010… I was 9 years old and that still hunts me to this day. What I did wasn’t correct, but that’s what I felt I had to to at that precise moment with how I felt and had in my hands. But getting that shit mentioned every time I see those people and having that thing as a label over me was just 💀 so I get what she went through to some extent. And because I know that if HYBE didn’t actually believed in her and believe that what she did was not “that bad”, she wouldn’t have even debuted on the first place. Like there’s no way they didn’t know beforehand, but maybe they thought they could manage it and surpass it but well
