The first elimination episode - painful, but necessary (I guess...)

I'm trying to be happy and grateful that so many of the eliminated groups got to be part of this show and showcase their talent and hopefully gain some new fans in the process!

I really love that the eliminated groups get to keep the new songs they'd already practiced, as I talk about towards the end, it really gives everyone a reason to look forward to them as individual groups and check out those songs, whenever they get released! I know I do, at least!

HOPE YOU LIKE IT πŸ’™ LOVE YOU ALL

While enjoying the show I almost forget that there are elimination rounds. I had almost had an heart attack when team 24:00 was in danger of being eliminated, but I am so glad they were able to go the next round. I'm actually pretty satisfied with the teams that survived, but will definitely miss the other teams. Especially team 21:00 (with the great rapper with the red hair) as I have a soft spot for them in my heart. At the same time I am not surprised 6 teams got eliminated as there are only 10 episodes. So slow eliminations aren't really possible.

Yes...Bittersweet is a good description of this episode. But I gotta hand it to Peak Time for the way they treated the eliminated groups. What a great gift for those teams! Bravo!! I am so looking forward to the coming episodes. This is the best survival show I've watched! I read some of the comments on the Viki site and most were really positive. A couple of them very puzzling though because they wanted to see a new team created from the competing teams. Why would they split up existing groups and make the other members feel crappy? The show is about highlighting and giving a boost of exposure to these well deserved groups, not creating a new group!! We already have enough of those types of survival shows. I want this one to have more seasons! Didn't you find it really nice how they all bonded together and supported each other? They all know how hard it is and they all came together like a band of brothers. I love that comradery!

Watching the eliminated teams reveal their group names and give their goodbye speeches was so emotional for me to watch, especially with 21 o'clock (24K). The way one of the members thanked Unit B and brought to light how difficult it must be to leave your hometown and survive/adapt to the industry puts their struggles even more into perspective. It's almost fateful how they were the swapped team during the previous round and got so uplifted by Unit B (especially Xiwoo getting so much praise w/the rap unit!). You can tell it hit a chord with DKB to see them leave. It really shows not only the bonds formed because of this show but how the environment really gives them the room to do so. Everyone is so supportive and coming from a place of understanding as they're all essentially in the same boat. It's unfortunate that there has to be eliminations but as you said, it's just the name of the game.

Peak Time is honestly the best survival show out there. The way they don't evil edit anything (looking at you MNET) and tells the stories from a neutral point of view is super amazing. I really like that the groups compete as one, and that they gave those songs to the eliminated groups as a gift. Just wanted to share some info - 4 out of the 5 BXB members, Boy by Brush team, were in the boy group TRCNG, which was under the same company as BAP (aka the group Moon Jongup was in). Just like how BAP was abused and not paid while under that company, TRCNG had the same fate and eventually sued and disbanded. TS Entertainment (that was their company) is literally the most evil company out there in Kpop. I'm sure Jongup recognized and knew the former TRCNG members too, and I can't imagine what they both felt. If you wanna check out another really good survival show I recommend Wild Idol if you haven't seen it. It has old members of 24k, participants from Boys Planet (gunwook, kamden, etc.), and just familiar faces in it. It's super unique and really puts the SURVIVAL in 'survival show'.
