With how this show loves to do double meaning lol I have no doubt what Hayama meant by "not choosing anything" he could mean his career choice or who's love he will reciprocate. Yumiko or Iroha. Both answers are valid cos its legit in Hayama's character. He's made the decison to continue to be that "Hayama for everyone" guy.

Hayama's dad is a lawyer. He's expected to take over as the eldest (and i think only) child. Therefor, him going into liberal arts was already decided for him. Also, that wasn't a decision for college. It was about their track in third year.
