Lots of book fans I know hate A1 for this scene with Leafa. As far as book described it, top of her armor was taken of to have access to skin for leaching. But it never specified where they landed. The whole thing with lower part is entirely on A1 and how they animated this. Leafa really got the worst end of a stick when it came to anime adaptation - a lot of her personal struggle was omitted in S1, on top of it her biggest chest in the squad is also anime original exclusively made for fan service, and now this. They couldn't animate some of the nice scenes in this season but they spend so much imagination on this....
