I was looking forward to this episode and the reaction didn't disappoint. Ichikawa's growth over the course of the series is the highlight of Dangers in my Heart for me. This boy has come out of his shell so much, you can't help but be proud of him. I love that the author made it a point to not write the speech scene in a way that would frame it like Yamada or his sister became the reason the speech went so well. No, Ichikawa did it himself. He looked into his heart, acknowledged how far he has come and found the confidence from within to speak. Yamada, her friends, his teacher, his sister all supported him but it was Ichikawa himself that took that leap of faith out of his comfort zone. Learning to love yourself is the hardest thing to do for some people so watching Ichikawa look inward, realize he has people who support him, recognize he can do it and getting the confidence from within to do the speech... it's beautiful. I'm sure plenty of people irl struggle with social interactions and relate to Ichikawa's anxieties and insecurities. So watching a character, who shares your shortcomings, take that step to grow as a person.. its inspiring.

Fantastic episode, and easily the biggest character growth moment for Ichikawa.
