I don't think I ever encountered such big of a difference in SAO between speech audio and sound effects. However, in my experience it is a common thing to happen to localized audio - oftentimes it's adjusted this way, so it's easier to get rid of original voice lines and put the new ones. So maybe it's because you have both audio in a single file? And yeah, SAO dub voice actors are great, Kirito and Asuna's even narrate the English SAO audiobooks right now - fun to compare the way they made the characters sound with the rest of anime actors

The OST during the battle "Find your sword in this land" is definitely one of my top three in all of SAO.

Most likely yes. (audio spikes) I had no issue with it either> I only remember twice where it hit me when watching it myself and those 2 instances have not happened yet.
