Tbh, no one is really at fault. Every job has different priorities. If Mangaka and Scriptwriter only talk to eachother, things for example like budget or if its even possible to show on stage wont be considered. What they should have done is all get in a call together, but then again, meetings that are too big lead to no where.

Honestly, it seems like alot of writers dont even end up meeting the scriptwriter, considering that the play was so close and that this was the first time that the manga author and scriptwriter even talked. It seems that usually what ever the manga author says just gets passed along and changed along the way. Ive actually heard that it is actually considered rude in japan culture if you just directly get in touch with them.
