Great show. Very informative. Something I found today while looking at maps and googling the region while listening. If you google "Ossetia" and click on maps, if redirects to the International Criminal Court in Den Haag . When you google "South Ossetia", it says it cannot be located.

Another great show. Can you please do one about the Chechen conflict.

This podcast is the best money I spend all month. Keep it up.

Hope you get well soon. It's mountain season and the WW1 fortifications in the Alps are not too far away. A lot to see there. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/history/world-war-one/10562017/Melting-glaciers-in-northern-Italy-reveal-corpses-of-WW1-soldiers.html

Thanks very much. Gotta say, the way people have responded to the show has been a wonderful surprise. Guess I'm not attuned to positive outcomes.

Thanks. We've come across some strange fortifications almost everywhere we've been, from the Albanian mushrooms to blockhouses deep in Bulgarian mountain forests--but yeah, we need to head toward Trentino, see that front.

Awesome episode I love learning about the origins of these frozen conflicts the many forgotten wars as the soviet union was being destroyed. For those interested in Saakishvili he is a frequent topic on this great blog/podcast on the caucuses and central asia. http://christophgermann.blogspot.com
