Modified 60GB PS3 Unboxing [PATREON EXCLUSIVE] (Patreon)

  Hi Patrons! Right before I filmed Sunday's video on the Pulse 3D Wireless Headset for PS5, I unboxed this beauty as a little extra Patreon bonus video! This was more of a personal/work related purchase that wasn't going to be any specific video for the channel but I figured why not film a little something for here. So check it out! 

  My launch PS3 has a bad GPU (and that's the one thing I can't repair myself) so I went ahead and picked up this beauty, that way between two PlayStations (PS3, PS5) I now have access to playing every console, and can easily film any game when I need to. What's great about the listing for this console, is the seller offered modifications. With these early backwards compatible PS3's, the reliability is a concern. But there's a few things you can do, so this PS3 has:

- Updated 19 blade fan.

- Updated power supply (draws less power, less heat).

- New thermal paste applied on top (and underneath) the IHS plates.

- Extra ventilation drilled underneath the console where fan is.

- NEC/TOKIN Capacitors replaced (these are like little fuses, if they go bad: YLOD).

  So outside of more serious modifications, this is what you can very easy swap out/fix on an early PS3 to circumvent overheating or YLOD. All of which I wanted to do on my own for a separate video but there's way too much PS5 coverage coming up. So for now at least, I was able to grab this conveniently.
