BEHIND THE SCENES PICTURED ABOVE: March's Pokemon Go community day. My best turnout yet, 9 shiny Bulbasaur! AR pictures gave me a huge problem though, could not 'carry' the encounter to a more photogenic location. AR mode kept dying and thus I was risking my shinies. So had to attempt all AR shots where the shinies were encountered.

Sup everyone! Just trying to keep you all posted on whats going on. So the new videos have been coming out and I'm learning a lot about whats good and whats not. It's also abundantly clear to me that while the vocal support is great, it's a minority. Nobody seems interested in dedicated gameplay videos like "Remembering" or the multiplayer montages. I have 2 other Rememberings filmed, and while I enjoy doing them, those also may be the last.

I know thats only 3 attempts but as mentioned previously, I want to stay aggressive with YouTube for now. So many of you have always told me over the years you wish the channel was bigger or that I deserved more. Those words are always so kind but if we ever want to see that happen I'm just gonna have to do the kind of content everyone likes to see. In an ideal world I could do a little bit of everything but the time investment for a video that can't even get 2,000 views is a total morale killer.

As of right now, I've got 2 other ideas that I'm working on now that I'm hoping might do better. But good to see people like the story videos. And my recent coverage of the PS4 vs X1 battle is always an interesting topic. So let me know what other topics we should touch on! Oddly enough that's basically 'Ryan on Gaming' again. But I think I might just do away with the 'series' branding on that one considering I don't know how consistent it would be.

I'm also considering lowering the upload frequency back down to 2 uploads. I put a lot of energy into those videos to get back to 3 a week it is not easy keeping up with. But we'll see how that plays out. And now the big one, something I've been gestating on for years. Should LTPS cover news throughout the week? The problem there is, I know people are going to want the one big show at the end of the week. And if news is uploaded as it happens, I'm just filming again at the end of the week for the same stuff. And in turn making that previous week of uploads redundant. And clogging the uploads too, taking away from possibly whatever else I'm doing.

I've struggle with that one for awhile. People love the PS news. Everything else I do is an after thought, so it seems natural to do more of that. But the reasons above muddle it up a bit. I mean honestly this is me just writing down my thoughts and filling you all in on whats going on. Let me know what you guys think!

I personally prefer the weekly format of LTPS, I like the consolidation of it, the summary. But that's just my personal preference. I'd be open to occasional "breaking news story LTPS's" though, if something major happens that deserves its own spot immediately. I guess that'd be subjective though, and you'd have to decide if something was worth it. Similar to how when you've had to quickly bolt on an extra story to LTPS post filming? But when a major story breaks post uploading it, like on a Saturday? Sorry if that's become a bit rambling 😂 hope that makes some kind of sense. Just spit balling here :p loving the new content. I just struggle to keep up sometimes, so 2 a week might be better for me, but do what you wanna do Ryan, and keep up the good work :)

I think you could make some dedicated “Ryan on Gaming” type videos and have them do well. You always touch on big issues in LTPS, and I’m sure that you have enough to say that they could be their own video. I’ve always wanted to see you do a video on loot boxes or cosmetics in games. You always offer a levelheaded and fair view of the issues in gaming which is unique. If you did those hot button issues in a timely manner, they’d probably draw in views too, just as some ROG topics got. I think you could also make some really specific videos. Like, I’ve seen some other youtubers even make videos about game sound effects or title screens. You don’t have to change your format. I think you could utilize what is unique about you to cover specific things that you have an appreciation for. Like, why playstation? That would be a good story video too. Getting your ps1 and the best experiences. Seriously, I’d love to see a video on why you love Pokemon and what it means to you, and why you think it’s been so dominant. Even a video on mobile games? Like wtf is going on with it. It seems like it’s getting more support than before. Why is the Switch performing better than the Wiiu? Do a PS5 video, what are we likely to see? I’m just spitballing, pulling out some topics. Idk if they’d all be good, but you have so much to offer and I’m sure you could find better ideas than what I suggested. And doing 2 videos a week might be better so that you have some more time to up the quality or make them slightlylonger(not saying they’re bad now.) also sorry to type so much 😅

Thanks a lot for the input Ben, trust me. I read everything and take everything said in stride. I'll keep everything you said in mind as I move forward.

Thanks for the comments and thoughts. I'll sit on it some more and hopefully figure out something that works!

Good to hear, Ryan. I watch every one of your videos no matter what, but I know you can get that broader appeal while still doing what you love.
