Just so you know this is not what most of these songs mean. They are pretty innocent and she's adding the spice lol 😭

Jen

Can't believe y'all thought these songs actually meant that 😶

Yeah, she is *literally* translating it. The song where it says "destroy myself in you* should rather be translated like - "Lose myself in you". And similar stuff. My Hindi is not so great, but tho it is funny, she's exaggerating the translation to make it sound worse.

"It's standing" is translated from "Kada hein" which can be interpreted as "It's standing" but should be interpreted as "He is standing"

Also, In "Didi Tera Devar Deewana" Song.....Second lyric literally means: putting seeds TO girls. In actual sense it means that he is throwing seeds at girls(refer to as birds/chicks here) which means he is trying to get a girl for dating/marriage.

There are so many songs especially songs which our parents and grandparents point to as supposedly decent songs of their times that have lyrics that are very suggestive. I've always noticed this because I paid attention to the lyrics and it always amazed me that most people didn't. She's my favourite when pointing out these lyrics. However some of her translations are a little too literal some of the songs actually don't mean that but she's spot on on most of them. For example Jawan has more than one meaning as does Jigar. There's a vernacular meaning for some words that are not literal. When she's saying she's Jawan, she's not saying she's just hit puberty, she's saying she's at an age of maturity, meaning no longer a child. Jawan also means a young soldier but she chooses the other meaning which is not what that song intends to say. But a lot of them are very vulgar without appearing to be and she's spot on on those.

This is what happens when you translates one language to another. You misinterpret the actual translation of the sentence or words. It happens all the time. So many Netflix movies has killed my favourite songs by translating poetic words into simple sentences that audience can understand. Meanwhile the lyrics of the song get butchered people don't care to look on internet and make memes.
