1x9: What I want to point out from this point onward (since I believe you, just like me, are not very versed in the wider StarWars Canon when watching Rebels for the first time) is how the force works, more specifically how it is divided. The Force is divided in two aspects, the Cosmic Force which holds together Time and Space, and the Living Force which controls/gives Life. Both parts of the force can be used in any matter of ways (dark-side, light-sight, neutral) and both together hold the universe together. So far we have seen most Jedi be very skilled in the Cosmic Force (they push stuff around, they move very unnaturally...) but only very little about the living force (the force-mindcontrol would be one aspect that is possible because you control the living force). Just watch Ezra's development because what we saw this episode is him becoming really versed with the living force (both in light-side and dark-side). Kanan on the other hand was trained during the republic where the Jedi focused a lot of their energy on controlling the Cosmic force and is therefore, like most other Jedi's we know) very well versed in this aspect but hasn't used the living force that much yet. So, from now on this will become important if you want to see all the little character- and world-building details that make this show one of the best StarWars Shows in my opinion
