I feel the depiction is real for a (diasporic) SA family/people/community minus the part where her mother lets her be without demanding further explanation. Haven't read the comics - just watched her in the animations - so I feel some of the criticisms are valid w.r.t the reasons for her power, etc... Enjoying the show regardless. The action bits are funny and I find myself more forgiving of it unlike the Kenobi ones :D

I know this is old now but the shoes thing... It's not even my culture and I find it rude. I wouldn't let people in my house wearing their shoes, either.
