Thanks for the content. However, I'd like to point out that this series was never meant to get the audience to have any sympathy towards Harshad Mehta. It's purpose is to show the narrative of how the system was back then and how people took the advantages of the loopholes. Harshad Mehta's downfall was his own doing.

The thing is that Sucheta and Debashis are the really heroes in this story because their journalism lifted the lid on the scam even if it may not have done much to upset the natural order of business at the top. The show did a good job of balancing between showing the facts of the case and the individual relationships between the characters without throwing the viewers into the deep end of all the financial jargon. Towards the end though it did seem like it showcased Harshad in a sympathetic light, as a stock market genius whose rags to riches lifestyle came in the throes of the people at the top and they conspired to take him down. I think that in reality he may have faced allegations for scams that he did not orchestrate as well but he was responsible for most of the losses incurred. I'm interested in reading the book to find out more about the case after watching this show.

I agree, the journalists did a great job at their end. It pressured everyone to look into what was going on and how vulnerable the system was. Of course, by the end of it, it seemed like they used him like a scapegoat for most of the financial issues of thier time.
