Woo hoo! Wandavision is here (but don't worry we will still be finishing out Cobra Kai!) The show is delightful but we have soooo many questions. What are your theories? (Also, please don't @ me for being a complete dum dum in the beginning 🤪)

i think the part where the character chokes, it wasn't supposed to happen that way, that was everyone braking out of their characters almost, you could say reality almost stepping through and that's why the camera angles were more 'modern' until wanda gathers herself and orders vision, the play continues and the camera angles go back to the 50s. so, I think as the scenes go by, the more she is becoming aware of it or the tv world is shaking, the more they shoot it like they would today

New Patron here, so I couldn’t make this comment when you first posted your reaction, but it’s not a ‘laugh track’ (which I understand to be pre-recorded audience laughter added in post) — it’s actually a real live studio audience. This was only done for the first episode. Subsequent episodes use laugh tracks, consistent with the format of the shows being emulated.
