Leaving you suggestions of other Tamil movies for watchalongs: VIDUTHALAI one of the best movies of 2023! Jaby must see it if only for the opening long take. Zee 5 has an extended cut of the movie I think. Part 2 comes out this year. It's a dark political/police drama by the director of Vada Chennai. Vijay Sethupathi is in it. Achara has seen the trailer with Andrew. VINNAITHAANDI VARUVAAYAA a modern classic by Gautam Menon (the director of Vaaranam Aayiram with Surya, which was reviewed by Jaby way back then recently got a new watchalong). It's a romance with Trisha (96, Ponniyin Selvan...) and STR (Maanaadu...), was remade in Telugu (with Samantha) and Hindi. Really strong movie. The lead is trying to be a filmmaker so we also get the movie in the movie. I think Jaby could enjoy it. There are a few fun "easter eggs" in the movie that I think only Achara might catch so Jaby-Achara would be my pick of reactors but others are good too 😁 VENDHU THANINDHATHU KAADU one of the best movies of 2022, Jaby had seen and liked the trailer. It's also by Gautam Menon who is one of the most renowned Tamil directors. He's quite versatile. This time it's a gritty gangster drama (with STR). THIRUCHITRAMBALAM a recent popular romcom/family drama (grandfather-father-son relationship) with Dhanush and Nithya Menon. A really nice watch. MANMADHAN a 2004 thriller that is very popular, BUT this movie got people talking and is also considered "problematic" for various things... Personally I get the problematic aspect but the movie is also very interesting, the plot is good and STR gives a great performance. He also wrote it (and according to some, ghost directed it). I'd love a reaction to it! All I'll say is do NOT choose Steph for it lol 😆 The OG duo Jaby-Achara might be the best pick. AADAI an underrated drama (1st half)/thriller (2nd half). Jaby saw the trailer years ago and was intrigued. It showed the lead waking up naked in an empty building. Slow burn at first but great 2nd half and very satisfying end IMO. A truly original movie. MADRASAPATTINAM a beautiful period romance with Arya and Amy Jackson (her 1st movie). Good plot. Stunning cinematography. People sometimes called it the Tamil Titanic lol. Really deserves a watch. MARK ANTONY a bombastic time travel comedy released last year, with SJ Suryah (he was one of the leads in Jigarthanda Double X, very good actor, he was also the villain in Maanaadu and in Spyder with Mahesh Babu). PARKING a 2023 hit about an escalating neighbour conflict about a parking spot. KANDUKONDAIN KANDUKONDAIN a popular adaptation of Sense & Sensibility with Aishwarya Rai, Tabu, Ajith and Mammooty! KADHALUM KADANTHU POGUM a popular romcom with Vijay Sethupathi. I think it's the remake of a Korean movie. KAATHUVAAKULA RENDU KAADHAL a love triangle romcom with Vijay Sethupathi, Samantha and Nayanthara. It was one of my fav movies of 2022 but reviews were mixed 🤷‍♀️ But you've done watchalongs for movies with overall mixed to bad reviews before lol so why not this one. I think it's actually a good one. It's misunderstood 😬 (people expected it to be about polyamory but it's in between that and a more conventional love triangle). Very well shot, beautiful visuals, great cast and an interesting plot and protagonist. Jaby had reacted to the trailer. GARGI a dark legal drama with Sai Pallavi playing a daughter fighting to prove her dad's innocence. It was one of the highest rated Tamil movies in 2022. Trigger Warning: r*pe, p*dophilia. MINSARA KANAVU a 90s hit romcom with Kajol, Prabhudeva and Arvind Swamy. Feel good watch 😊 (I didn't want to end this list of recommendations on something as dark as Gargi 😩) Hopefully some of these get considered 🙂

Guys, I want you to explore the malayalam industry more, especially since you guys loved Manjummel Boys and it did well. Malayalam is easily the best industry when it comes to high quality artistry and screenplay. Movie that will showcase this is Aattam which came out this year. It's like 12 angry men. KATHTHI, a vijay movie that must be watched! THANI ORUVAN, an edge-of-seat action thriler! Also, SULTAN (tamil movie 2021), great story and screenplay. Then SARDAR, IRUMBU THIRAI from the same director. ANEGAN, 24, MASS ENGIRA MASILAMANI and INDRU NETRU NAALAI are also must-watch sci-fi/fantasy tamil movies.
