The first of many sprites to come. The dungeon crawler's engine uses sprites and so here's a 3d model turned into a gritty little Fallout 1 man. 

Possible/likely that the sprites in the final game are bigger/prettier/more detailed but this test came out so fun that it has to be shared. 

I know i promised a big update before more gifs but, well, here's a gif. Making a video is irritating and laborious but I think I might just write up how I approach uv/texture stuff for a model. screenshots, explanation, step by step for those curious. At the same time so many people are giving support that I dearly, dearly appreciate and so I want to give you guys something good. I'm still figuring out the whole regular social media/self promotion/etc. stuff but know I want to honor the interest and subscriptions.

i love this 3dmodel-turned-sprite look! are you rendering each angle from blender? cause i tried doing that with an old project and it was exhausting to do it by hand

my thing with this guy was just to animate him in the different poses, take a screenshot of the render preview and crop it/resize it into 48x48. was annoying at first but with asesprite it went from those screeenshots to a working sprite instantaneously
