YES! I think this is the episode that got me hooked!! The team really won my heart! Can’t wait for the rest of season 1!💜

Another banger episode. Yeah the little kids are some of the creepiest things in this show, great for up coming spooky season. Yeah could you imagine be a sassy red head giving good advice and then watching your gal friend just act on impulsive thoughts? It was nice to have Harley face off against her own past and come out stronger. I know it’s disappointing how Joker is still a big part of her brain but abusive relationships can really be like that. Now if only she could find a partner who is much better for her… if only.

I get watching the first season and even a bit of season 2 how harley can be a bit overwhelming and frustrating but I've loved her from the start. She's one of those characters I've known pretty much my entire life. She helped me through discovering and accepting my own sexuality but also helped me overcome relationships similar to hers and jokers. This episode is one of my favourites of the whole show because of how much I love harley. They explore her character and her actions as an individual here a lot more than most of her comics do. It's also really cool that they include a couple pictures of her and ivy in her memories, subtlely hinting at their bond and the importance ivy has in harleys life. As much as I enjoy the rest of this season I'm just extremely hyped for when you get to season 2!

ya Harley is not the sort to think things through. This will not change, but if it did Ivy would not get to be the sassy "I told you so" gem she is.

Being Harley Quinn. Understanding Willow. I’m sensing a naming theme here.

Mosco: Why is there always an inside-the-head episode? Meanwhile Luz: Be still my fantasy-loving heart! I have always wanted to do this!

The reason he has a metal hand (and other mechanical parts) is because his name is Sy Borgman - Cyborg Man.

There's always a 'inside their head' episode because writers love writing about what makes their characters tick, but in a visual medium you have to show SOMETHING. The most direct way to show what's in their heads is to just... DO it. If the world is wacky enough to support a literal trip into the mind, it's really hard to resist.

It was so satisfying seeing Harley face her past, (and beat the crap out of past Joker,) take control, and realise what makes her Harley, is what she decides. Her origin starts when she decides. Also, I agree, those child Harleens were terrifying. I think what it is is that little girls are normally a symbol of innocence, so when they're made scary, it's automatically amplified in our minds.

Harley deciding her own origin story is perfectly on brand for her. Evil lair acquired. This squad is coming together. If the whole concept of superhero bureaucracy tickles you, I might recommend The Venture Bros. 7 seasons and a movie. The whole Venture-verse has the situational premise that you can't just arch anyone without filling out the proper forms, be aligned with the proper guilds, matched up with your adversary to make it a fair fight, etc. etc. Lots of trope mocking, characters who are obvious knock-offs of popular comic heroes and cartoon characters, and just a hilariously dark sense of humor with pop-culture references sprinkled in. The growth of some of the characters is incredible as well. Fun show, stellar world building and lore weaving, the plot is absolutely captivating and the comedy is excellent. One of the few shows where I'd say it consistently got better as the show went on. BUT... The show started in 2003, and was part of the [adult swim] animation block, so the language in the early seasons (1-3) is a little... rough. Pejorative use of gay, homo, and queer. And there's a female villain with a deep voice who's frequently the subject of transphobic remarks, until season 3 when the reason for her voice is revealed. And they still use the R slur beyond that. I think the last use is season 4. So yeah... it really is an amazing show, but the culture it originated in was toxic.

benefits of being ace I didn't know that was a metaphor for and now I'm informed it was one I still don't know what for and I think I'm happy not knowing

If that's what Harley's subconscious looks like, I'd hate to see her domconscious. *ba-dum tish* ...I'll see myself out.

The cherry on top of this episode is they got the real Frankie Muniz to voice 11-year-old Frankie Muniz!

Not as keen on her memories part harley wasnt born a psychopath she eas turtured to insanity and warped by abuse from the joker would worked better if they aknolledged that and made the episode about her overcoming the forced reality placed on her

demonic-myst

It was never her choice while yes she may jumoed thats after she was turtured and brain washed harley is messed up because of brainwashing and abuse its what makes her escape good normally
