How none of the voice actors received any awards for their acting in this show is beyond me. Their performances in this episode give me chills every single time. Particularly "You made your choice. Now LIVE WITH IT !" and "Take care of each other." Are particularly heartbreaking. I was Sobbing.

It's kind of a weird artistic decision to have most of season 4 one tea party after another, with most of the drama being who is wearing what outfit, but it does provide a nice break before season 5.

I love how casually the drop us into the scenario of "the Horde has blinked out of existence, so now there never was a war which means Micah was never lost", but it also carries a tinge of sadness: Bow, never having a rebellion to join, never had an opportunity to find his true self and is instead the historian his fathers expect him to be — the role he was effectively assigned at birth. I have trouble believing the allegory there is unintentional...

That was a really intense reaction, I loved it. This episode is such an emotional rollercoaster. You barely have time to recover from one heartwrenching moment before they drop the next one on you. This was also the first time She-Ra made me cry (out of 3 times in total, tho I got close a couple of other times). Don't worry, the other times I cried were totally tears of hapiness ;) Interestingly, there is a fairly important clue in this episode that you missed. I wonder if you'll notice it while editing it, but its fine if you don't. On to the next season!

Ohhh yeah. I was 100% done with Catra and Adora as a ship by this point. I love me a sapphic love story, but It's just so toxic. Don't get me wrong, I love Catra as a character, but she's so messed up and traumatized that she's just constantly projecting how she was treated onto others. Which just makes her full on mentally and physically abusive. But a lot of the fanbase doesn't like that take ^^;

It's hard to say what the nature of Corrupted Catra really was, because she knows things that Catra didn't know, like that Adora came through a portal, and says things to hurt her related to fears Adora only got after she was seperated from Catra for months, so is she real? An illuson? Is she a manifestation of the portal? Is she the real Catra who an hour ago was just almost gruesomely murdered to death by her parental figure who sided with Adora, was so desperate to win she ignored everyone around her Adora is right and she's wrong, and chose to die twice rather than let her win, who then got mixed up with wierd magic and collapsing time, and managed to pull herself out, driven by despair and propping herself up with spite and pretending to be glib? Who can say.

As soon as you saw Micah... "It was at this moment that she knew she fucked up..." I'll admit, up until the end of season 3, I was enjoying the show, but only casually hanging on. Afterwards, I was hooked! Full steam ahead to the finalé! For me, it was Glimmer going "Oh boy! I'm gonna be in trouble!" that broke me. Adora silently powering down and just holding her... One of my favorite bits of that episode was the final staredown between Catra and She-Ra. Catra trying to maintain the "I'll get you next time!" power dynamic, and She-Ra giving her a look that says "Try anything again and I will fucking end you!" Catra, visibly shaken, slinking off into the shadows.

You say that Glimmer has no family left, but that's not true. She still has her gay aunts. I mean, we don't know Auntie Castaspella is gay, and her not-so-secret romance with Shadow Weaver is weird in several ways, but at least you have a self-contained wedding episode to look forward to in season four, even if it does break the pacing of the arc and is tonally at odds with the episodes before and after.

Catra’s never seen Adora/She-ra look at her like that before. So serious, angry, and determined all at once. Cuz up until Catra opened the portal, some part of Adora always believed she could get through to Catra, which is why she would continue to plead with her to do the right thing. After the portal, Adora finally gave up hope for Catra, which is what Catra thought she wanted all this time.

Everyone shipped Catradora and said it’ll probably be endgame but I was like ‘Nah, no way in hell.’ Since the very beginning I shipped Glimmer and Adora, because those two were so adorable and cut together and imo a way better ship then Catradora bc that one is just toxic as fuck.

Also, while I know that was really Catra because after Adora destroys the portal we see Catra touch the formerly corrupted side of her face, in some ways I think corrupted Catra was a projection of Adora’s internal guilt. In the portal reality it seemed like so many of the characters got their “perfect” world, but Adora’s hero complex doesn’t allow her to consider her own perfect world. How can she be worthy of a perfect life when there are still so many problems to fix? After all, she’s responsible for everything. So I think instead of her perfect world Adora gets a reality where all of her biggest regrets and things she feels guilty over (whether it’s justified or not) are thrown in her face.

Also, as much as people joke about Catra and Adora being girlfriends, I think it’s important to note that they’ve never actually been any closer than best friends.

Yeah, its very interesting and a good indication that this reality isn't actually perfect, or, that it is impossible for such a reality to exist due to conflicting wishes. I suspect Bow's desire to be an adventurer was overpowered by the desire of both of his parents that he become a historian.
