“Don’t enlist until you know what war you’re fighting.” Hobie speaking truths. I love the fact that He's just pure, unadulterated chaotic neutral. EXACTLY how a punk would be, and it's presentedin such a positive light. My favorite scene from the movie has to be when he unmasked himself with Miles, and when Miles asks him why he even looks cool without the mask, he simply responds with “I’ve always been cool.” Absolutely love the guy!

I also love the recent trend in animation towards stylized rendering. Perfect hyper-realistic rendering has had its day. And the fact that they animated the whole thing on 2s, 3s, or 4s to achieve the "comic book" aesthetic is just amazing. They had an entire workflow to keep characters from strobing since the camera was animated one 1s. I'll stop before I autistic info dump every thing I know about the technology behind the film.

Hobie is simply the fucking best. Cannot wait for more of him in the sequel. Loved the simply understated exchange; Miguel: Hobie, you're not helping! Hobie: Good. There is some speculation with regard to his boot laces. There are gang members who wear blue laces to signify that they personally killed a cop. If it's linked to his canon event, maybe he was the one who killed the police captain, or simply that he feels wholly responsible for it. The live-action bit where Spot pops into the real world, that is from Venom movie. Sadly no Eddie Brock appearance. Thinking about it, both Gwen and MIles are anomalies. Like she said, "in every other universe, Gwen Stacy falls for Spider-man. And in every other universe, it doesn't end well." Both of them had their "Uncle Ben" moment with a family member who died fighting them, not from some senseless act of violence, or as is usually the canon, from them letting a criminal go. I don't know how that's going to play into the third film. A review of Arcane I watched points out the conflicting viewpoints of Piltover and Zaun - one always looking to the future, one always looking to the past. But there's a third road, the Firelights, that focuses on the here and now. I feel that same dynamic might be at play here - Miles is always looking to the future, Miguel is stuck in the past, Peter B is somewhere in the middle. As is sometimes the case, the way out may be some third option. Time will tell...

You didnt forget anything from the last movie :) The 'lassie who let him go home at the computer' was Spyder-Bite who is from this movie. The only ones from the old movie are Gwen, Dad-Peter, Mecha Spider (the anime gal who only has one line), Spider Noir and Spider Ham (both of whom only really show up in a few shots at the very end) I think Mecha Spider or Penny, is siding with Miles because when we see her she looks older and a lot worse for wear. Some people I know have theorized that since she looks closer to her comic counterpart a lot of her bad cannon events have happened but she didnt have the support Miles does right now. So she just kinda had to accept it and now she is going into the fray to be there for him so she doesnt turn out like her :C

Regarding Miguel he like most spider people are motivated by grief and loss of and this is a way to feel like that loss meant something so I wouldn’t call him a villain more like an antagonist towards miles view Miguel currently believes the needs of the many outweigh the few and miles believes that he has to at least try to save everyone even if it it’s incredibly risky and due to him losing his daughter because of a mistake that he believes miles is also about to make is what I believe caused him to be harsher on him (also fun fact about Miguel he got his powers from genetic gene splicing rather than a spider bite and his fangs produce a non lethal toxin he also doesn’t have spider sense because of that he also doesn’t have stickiness which is what the claws are for and this spikes on his arms are a part of him as well )
