From what I've heard, this 2015 BBC Films adaptation starring Cary Mulligan (Woo, Sally Sparrow!) is pretty faithful to the original Thomas Hardy novel. If that's the case...why was this book considered mandatory reading in schools again? Because it's pretty lame. Here's my review of the movie. I'm sure it won't be controversial at all...
