I love your reactions. Be careful, I think that in chapter 4 there is a huge spoiler about house of the dragon, so huge that it fucks up the whole series, when you see Joffrey and Margery in the sept talking, come in, tell a story... if they told you exactly that would be great. I don't know if you will read this comment.

While I agree that they maybe should skip it, we all watched that scene when S3 aired. I'd say 99% of everyone who's watched HOTD has already watched that scene because we're all originally GOT fans. Though I do think it makes sense to skip it for people binging the show as they'll likely remember that scene more closely compared to the average viewer who watched in real time. And it's not super pivotal to the storyline. Just a cool look at the Targaryen past.

Honestly the reason people haven't said they were excited for you to see season 4 is because 3 and 4 pretty much are on par with each other and feel like one mega season.

If I had seen Game of Thrones at the time, after 5 seasons and two more years I probably wouldn't remember that scene, but I saw GOT like them, when everything was done, very often and then you do remember that conversation. it is not important for GOT however it completely ruins HOD

Yeah, in the books. Tywin's wife, Joanna Lannister (cousin) was the one person he truly loved and he changed when she died after giving birth to Tyrion. And yes, Barristan is indeed one of the greatest warriors in the universe. He fought and won against a man with enough strength to punch through a horse and twist off a head with just one hand. Not to mention the hundreds of warriors and knights he has slain. Not even Jaime takes him lightly despite being far younger and in his prime. Only one man was able to confidently beat Barristan Selmy, Ser Arthur Dayne, known better as the Sword of the Morning.

I think you guys were confused in the previous episode on the White Walker that showed up at the end and why that one looked different. Let me clarify for you! The crazy looking icy being you saw at the end is a White Walker. A humanoid species with great strength and magical properties. They can raise the dead and command them at will. The dead people that they control are called "wights". You saw a mix of white walkers and wights in that final scene in season 2. You'll know when you see a White Walker (as both of you were shocked at how they looked lol). Wights look like regular dead and rotting people (sometimes even just bones).

Yep. It doesn't help that the show's version of White Walkers/Others is too close to the typical Zombie archetype. Book White Walkers are very different, essentially scary beautiful ethereal aliens that don't seem quite real the few times they are spotted (and are mostly background unseen foes, with the Wights being the main visible enemy (and even then, aren't seen much in comparison to the battles between mortals)).
