Shadow in the Shelves illustration process (Patreon)

the third roger book comes out in a week (july 29th, next friday!), so i thought i'd share some of the illustration process with you guys! reflections play an integral part of the story, i was going to have to deal with drawing reflections. which are super annoying, but made a little easier with the use of models >:)
in order to make this illustration work, i posed out roger at his desk in CSP, copied those models, and then flipped and slid them along the axis of reflection. then i put up a transparent flat plane model, and posed out the model for adler only in the reflection. thus: a perfect mirror reference, where only he appears.
then it's just a matter of drawing the thing, haha. i used a lot of texture in this book. rake brushes are fantastic for crosshatching and filling in big areas of black
