Dev Update #14 (Patreon)
Content
Okay, so one day early. I think I am probably going to move these to Saturday from now on. It is just more comfortable for me to manage.
For those who have gotten a chance to play the latest version I hope you are enjoying it. I was a bit worried about the direction of focusing on the characters I did, but from the feedback, I think my worry was unfounded. Not to mention the car. Oh, I won't shut up about that, I know :P
To let you know, I have started dev again. I took a bit of a break of about two days then the itch hit again. I also created some big special renders for Canada Day and Independence Day. They both are pretty silly but all in good jest. I can't wait to show those to you guys on their respective days.
Now one thing I want to bring up is I am setting a new goal, and it may be confusing to some, so I want to lay out the why of it. Before, I had set a goal of 3500 for a new render rig to offload renders. When I created that goal, that was back around this time last year. Back then, I barely knew what octane was (the render engine that I now use). Thing is, using another computer with my workflow is not very practical for me using octane, sadly. So, what I did do when I hit that mark was still got a second machine, but it is for things such as photoshop work, video editing, coding, and writing. I still want to get more speed to do some higher quality stuff. I am talking about scenes such as the Nuru scene with Victoria, or the lighting style from the subway in the last update. I can't always do those types of scenes simply because right now they take insane amounts of time to create.
So, the next goal which I will set reasonably high to cover the costs is to acquire an actual proper 3D rig. What I have now is good, no doubt on that but I like to push things as I think most are aware and I'd like the proper hardware to pull that off. I just wanted to make sure you guys are aware of why that goal is being set and why it's high, so there is no confusion.
As always stay awesome guys!
