A lot to track. They have to be on top of the air picture, the surface situation, the Sub surface situation, and anything ashore that might be able to reach out and touch them.

Makes me feel old. The CP-642-B computer that was used for NTDS in the late 70's-early 80's had blinking lights all over it like in the old Sci Fi movies.

Army command posts are somewhat similar in function (obviously optimized for the Land domain) but sure don’t look this sexy. Curious as to what the various stations are, and how the info “fusion” is accomplished. Is there an officer of the watch or battle captain on duty to help coordinate efforts and effects between the various stations? Would be a good topic for a SubBrief. I’m betting AI will significantly impact these facilities, making them significantly faster and more effective as AI matures.

Those types of CPs are going the way of the Dodo. Back to mobile and compact. C2 survivability was brought back to the forefront thanks to UKR-RUS War.
