I really like the enclosed sail! I bet there's likely a sonar array there...

If this didn't show up in chat, A.B. is a German business abbreviation signifying a limited corporation. Also, BTW, "flundram" is Swedish for "flounder".

Also, Blekinge is a small county on the Baltic Sea in southern Sweden. The name translates roughly to "dead calm," which might comport with the fact that this submarine is supposed to be silent.

With the current war going on in the Ukraine. It would be interesting to know what naval assets the various countries that ring the Black Sea have in that theater of operation.

So, in Sweden, it works like this. The FMV (Swedish Defence Materiel Administration) owns the design to the A26 submarine. Saab builds it and designs it but the rights are owned by the Swedish Government. Thysenkrupp essentially bought Kockums in order to shut down and hinder their main competitor for AIP submarines. They tried multiple times to convince Sweden to buy the 212 instead of the A26. But Sweden refused which ultimatly caused the reposession incident. After that Saab suddenly got very interested in submarines and started recruiting all personell from Kockums that they could get their hands on. Saab offered very beneficial compensation to kockums designers and engineers which caused the kockums employees to leave in droves. Since Saab was emptying kockums of their talent it eventually forced ThysenKrupp to sell Kockums to Saab before it was just an empty shipyard. Saab and the Swedish Government totally outmanuvered ThysenKrupp once it was obvious that they were delaying the A26 and preventing export sales by demanding that all potential buyers would have to pay for the full development costs instead of sharing it between the potential partners.
