Ok. Last one for today! And I’m caught up.

First week of September we did a little Earth/Water spoil and dropped some bangers.

First, Grizzled Crop Keeper by Domakhin Gleb. As always his use of dark inking in fairly large spaces creates a really deep looking artwork. This character has clearly been grizzled and we love the continuity from planting (similar veggies). Fantastic effort!

This was actually the debut of Raf, and the stream was popping off when we showed this. Tons of action, and that amazing anatomy and positioning he brings really hyped me and others up. The card has some small details that speak to the abilities and I was so happy we got to fit it all in!

Then we spoiled a new character. Ophelia D’Marque, the queen of The Unseen City. This character doesn’t have a card in set 1 herself, but I wanted to feature her a little bit as her mask and city are in the set.

We showed D’Marque Heirloom first, where Arte Express Studio absolutely crushed the idea. Ophelia has “companions” she travels with who are meant to be look-a-likes and she has them all wear matching masks. This is meant to protect her from an assassination attempt, by decreasing the odds she gets targeted. This artwork is stunning and a bit chilling. As the masks have a really haunting look, and you know putting one on may be a death sentence.

Then we moved into Disbelief, by Fernando Cordeiro. Another artwork focused on Ophelia, this one shows her sort of shrugging off the “legend” of some other Epic Unit. As if to say “You’re epic? I’m QUEEN!” The detail is amazing, the skill shown in this artwork is really stunning. Of everything we’ve shown for the last month+, I think this card may have received the largest reaction. Hats off to Fernando!
