Newsletter #7 - I Raced the Fastest Puzzler from 1986 (Patreon)
Content
Hi everybody and happy puzzle Sunday! Today’s video is one that I’m super excited about - I got the two puzzles that were used in the 1986 National Jigsaw Puzzle Championships and I’m speed running them to find out how I would have placed. Make sure to watch until the end for a lot of bonus info about how the old contests worked back then:
This is the Springbok Fever website with more info about the 1980s contests and all of the finish times:

Unfortunately because I lost a day celebrating the 4th of July this week, I didn’t have a chance to make an exclusive video. But stay tuned until next week, because I’ll be posting a giant puzzle haul video (with some of the most exciting puzzles I’ve gotten lately!) and I already filmed a bonus video opening an extra box of vintage puzzles.
Upcoming Events
To give you guys a heads up of where I’ll be competing, here is my upcoming schedule:
August 5 - Online contest with speedpuzzling.com and the USA JPA. If you’re a member of the Jigsaw Puzzle Association, you should have gotten an email about this contest a little while ago.
August 12 - Northeast Championship in Connecticut. My World’s team is all flying in to use this event as a practice weekend.
September 20-24 - World Jigsaw Puzzle Championships in Spain
October 4 - California State Championship. One of their usual members can’t make it, so I’ll be subbing in with the Golden State Puzzlers!
Lots of puzzling coming up. Let me know if you’ll be at any of them, and let me know if you liked the 1980s race video too!
