New Video - The Most Difficult 3D Puzzle in the World + Updates (Patreon)

Last week's video about the Taylor Swift puzzle was a simple and fun one, but this week I'm going far in the other direction and making a video that is solely for the puzzle nerds. I'm solving and investigating some "3D" puzzles from the 90s, and I go into a LOT of detail and even got some info from the puzzle inventor:

This video has been a PROCESS from start to finish. Originally I thought it would be a fairly simple video where I just solve the Paradox puzzle that we found in Katie's room. (Secret fun fact: She thinks it was a gift from a family member like 20 years ago that she never opened or solved, but I didn't want to call that out in the video).
Anyway, I also got the Coral Reef puzzle on Ebay so I would have a more colorful one to also show on camera. So after filming the entire first half of the video, I looked more closely at the photos of the Buffalo version and realized I needed to show that in the video as well. So I quickly ordered one on Ebay and waited a few days for it to arrive before I could finish filming the video.
So then, I filmed solving the two fish puzzles and exploring the differences between them. And I thought the video was almost finished until two things happened. First, I realized I forgot to put the glass plates back in when I showed the Crystal Lines puzzles on the light box. And second, Dugald got back to me with all kinds of new information I wanted to share in the video.
So everything after when I take the Buffalo puzzle off the light box was a reshoot. Looking at it on camera, I don't know if it actually looks all that different having the glass in there or not, but it definitely looked different in person! So after all that, I finally ended up with the video you can see on YouTube. Plus a very long pinned comment because I had even more notes I wanted to share that didn't make it into the 50 minute video. My next video will definitely be much simpler!
In more personal news, my mom is here in LA! I'll be taking this week off from videos, and after this mountain of a project, I'm really looking forward to getting out into the real world and doing other things for a bit.
I also wanted to let you all know that I signed up for a virtual competition put on the USA Jigsaw Puzzle Association. It'll be on April 29, and since it's virtual, anyone can sign up (though it might be USA only?).
I'm competing in Pairs with Yvonne, which should be fun since it'll be the first time we've puzzled together. She usually works with Tammy, but since Tammy is running the event, we're pairing up instead. And then I'll also be doing the first Individual time slot. If you're a member of the USA JPA, you can sign up now, or March 6 for non-members:

I'll plan on filming our solves on my phone to make a Patreon-exclusive recap video, so stay tuned for that.
