A Whole Plethora of Updates (including a new video schedule!) (Patreon)

Hi everybody! I’m back in LA and back in puzzle video production! I have so many updates to share with all of you.

First off, I had a great trip at home seeing my family. We escaped an escape room, did some cryptic crosswords, and of course, did a few puzzle speed runs to start preparing for the National Championships in October.

I’ll be posting about this publicly later this week, but I’ve decided that for the rest of the year, I’ll be posting my videos on Friday mornings rather than Sunday. That way I don’t feel like I need to be working through the weekend getting the video finished. Of course you’re still welcome to wait until Sunday morning to watch - I’ll still try to reply to comments all weekend. I’ll see how it goes for the rest of the year and then decide if I want to keep that schedule permanently.

Now that I’m back, I’m working on my next two videos simultaneously. The first is the story of an estate sale auction where I got some vintage puzzles for a great price, but missed out on some other incredible vintage puzzle finds. That video should be up this Friday.

And then I’m also filming a video where I solve one of the puzzles I got at the estate sale, Prismatic from Springbok. It’s just a really beautiful design on a puzzle, so I’m doing a lot of close up *aesthetic* shots to really highlight how well-made it is. And of course, I’m doing this so I can find out if any pieces are missing!

I’ve also filmed a lot of short videos that I need to edit and post. I’ve been filming a lot of my practice speed runs, including one with Katie. And I filmed the videos going through all of the puzzle-related Guinness World Records from the 2001-2006 books that I found in my room. Those will eventually all be posted to TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.

Amid all of that, I unfortunately didn’t have a chance to film a new exclusive video for here on Patreon, but I dug up another old time lapse video. This one didn’t do so well even when it was a public video on my channel, but I really like it! It’s four puzzles mixed together, and when you solve them, you get really beautiful typography to spell out the word YEAH. I just checked and it doesn’t look like they’re available anymore, but if you look up “Knock Knock Four Letter Word Puzzles”, you may be able to find them secondhand.
