This album takes a while to get into. First time I listened to it, it was allright. After a couple listens some of the songs became some of my favorite tracks. Today a couple of years later it's a little too much of a "stoner" album in some parts for me personally. Since I don't smoke anymore it doesn't connect the same way it did back when I was a smoker. But the alori joh song always brings me to tears and terrorist threats and ILLuminate are timeless rap songs. Thanks for giving Ab a shot! It would be a huge honor to see you listen and give your feedback on Schoolboy Q's album "Oxymoron". Also the Jay Rock album "90059" is such a amazing album. Both TDE guys that were featured here and there thru Kendricks and Ab's stuff. Peace and love man thanks for a good video =)

hey bob great reaction! really surprised ab soul made it but soooo glad you did. i remember hearing terrorist threats for the first time and was blown away. loved ab soul ever since. in hiphop its rare for music videos actually enhance a song but the pineal gland video is really good. hope you check it out!

okay another thing! hearing you talk a little bit about political things i think youll really appreciate immortal technique. whether you react on your channel or not i think youll really enjoy how deep he goes. the way you criticize both sides for being at fault and creating problematic things at this moment he feels the same. in his latest interviews hes calling about sides and trying to wake people up to the evil of both sides. he hasnt dropped an album since the martyr in 2011 before that he had the revolutionary acts volumes 1 and 2 and the middle passage. he was in the us army but since he has always spoken against thee government and been about the people. he built an orphanage in Afghanistan amongst other things. havnt seen him mentioned so hope you check him out!

Around this time, Ab-Soul's fellow TDE Schoolboy Q released an album called Albums & Contradictions. I bring that up just to remark that this album could also be called that. Ab-Soul is kinda like a profane saint, someone who takes a broad view of the world and also wholeheartedly delights in (and copes with) vices. I was glad to see you reviewed this album because it's one of the most singular and reassuring rap albums I've heard, flaws and all. Some have said the production style was more common in its time, and that's true. But I think even at the time, this album sounded kinda junky and lo-fi in spots. I mean, compare the beats here to Section.80. And depending on how you feel about swag rap, you could try ASAP Rocky's music from around this period for some more lush sounds. I look forward to hearing what you say about the album later, after reflection. I could sense how it agreed with some of your deepest thoughts on society and life, even though it so obviously has clunkers in the track list. Part of the issue might be the instrumentation, but a lot of it probably traces back to Soulo's off-kilter style. He leaves unexpected pauses in what seems a less deliberate way than DOOM. Even though he speaks clearly and he can spit when he wants to, he can sorta drag his delivery sometimes and talk about seemingly unrelated things. He's just a different sort of artist, for better and worse. This is off topic, but I wonder if anyone's recommended Das Racist to you. Just a terribly algorithm-unfriendly name for a rap group, but Soul's humor and occasional rambling remind me of them somehow.

When Weezy came up and Bob said, "I think that's an artist," I was laughing, with the thought of "I mean, that's true, BUT..." Because to me, Lil Wayne is not just an artist but the biggest star in popular rap for years, leading up to the Drake era.

I just like Ab on features. I think you shouldve reacted to a Schoolboy Q album instead
