The Sonoran

The reason Pick Up the Phone has a wall of sound that’s a bit different than the rest of the album is because the song is also Travis’ and is featured on his second album, “Bird in the Trap Sing McKnight.” You haven’t checked that one out yet but you definitely need to!! PUTP was originally Thug’s song but Travis took it for his own album as well. Mike Dean is responsible for the extra synths and that chaotic ending.

If you’d like recommendations for future young thug projects I’d go with one of these three: So much fun is easily thugs most ‘mainstream’ album, it’s very feature heavy although I find it’s not a good showing on what sets thug apart from his peers (his vocal performance). Some very good tracks and a great listen. Beautiful thugger girls is another album featuring a reggae type sound although it’s worked in with guitar strums. I find it a good listen although not my favourite. My personal pick would be slime season 3. A short 8 songs and 30 minute run time, this album is filled with experimental beats and very eccentric vocal performances which makes for a quick listen if you enjoy the fast and unique songs. Great listen Bob. Rock on
